2nd Thought [Video]

[Ever since Scott disappeared, Jean has been feeling a bit glum. Somehow, having your best friend around just makes everything that much more tolerable. Not that she doesn't enjoy Kitty, Storm, and the rest; She's very thankful for their presences! But-- Scott was special. Scott is special. And his absence in her life weighs heavily on her mind.

Not liking to dwell or mope, though, she is doing her best to keep her spirits up.]

Hi, everyone! [She gives a little wave to the camera.] My name's Jean, for those of you who haven't met me. I'm still pretty new here, but I figured it was about time I did one of these.

I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in playing some sort of field game. Soccer, basketball, baseball-- I'm open to suggestions! I used to do varsity sports, back home, and I admit I kind of miss it. If there's a sport I don't know, from one of your homes, I'd be happy to try and learn, if I can.

[Turning to face him, she gives a little playful mock bow.] Thanks. That was a great game! You're really good.

[She pauses, as she heads over towards the controls, to turn the program off.] So... I have to ask. When are you from?

I'll show ya mine if ya show me ya's. [Remy offered a rather cheeky grin to go along with that, heading back to his coat and crouching down to reach into it. Pulling out a drink bottle, he pulled open the mouth piece with his teeth before taking a long drink, his eyes focusing on her the entire time.]

[Jean shrugged slightly. It's not like she had anything to gain by not telling him; nor was it like she had ever planned on withholding that information.]

Well. When I'm from [What had happened to her life that that was grammatically correct statement to make? Ugh.] I've not actually met you, per se. I've encountered you though. Big huge fight, involving Magneto releasing a Sentinel on us in the middle of down-town?

[Yes, but might help him not to tell her everything. Remy let out a light chuckle as he closed up his drink again.] Ah, that fight, hein? Shame it be when I'm one of Buckethead's goons.

I be... quite a bit in ya future.

I figured. You seemed-- a little more familiar with me than I was with you. In a good way. [She chuckles, as the program powers down, the basketball court flickering into non-existence.]

"Buckethead" huh? I take it to mean you don't stay one of 'the goons' then?

['More familiar' might not be her opinion if she knew what was in her future, provided she got back home. Really, the only interaction they would have is more fighting. For now, Remy would let it slide, no need to inform her about that.]

Non, I be back to freelancin' 'nd gettin' by in the world. [Kind of.] The normal. Must be weird for ya, bein' 'round others who know what's to happen for ya.

Yeah... It definitely is that. [Her mind immediately jumps to the kiss Scott gave her upon arrival. Man, and here she had managed this whole game without thinking of him. Darnit.] But they say we don't remember when we go back so, [She shrugs.] Just another level of "weird" to get used to. All in a day of the life for a mutant.

[Getting back up on his feet, Remy rocked back on his heels, hands interlinking behind his head as he used the pressure to stretch his back and shoulders.]

'pparently don't when ya come back here either. [Part of him refuses to accept the previous 'Remy's in this world were even him. He didn't remember it, so how could it be him? Not his memories, so not part of him, simple as that.]

[Remy quickly brushed those thoughts away.] Ah! Live for the moment, don't worry too much 'bout what will be, just a whole bunch of stress ya don't need.

Well... from what I've heard, my future's looking pretty bright. So I suppose that sort of outlook works well, in my case. [Everything's coming up Jean. ~~Just like always.~~ ~~Until the Phoenix.~~]

Oui, good guys prevail, world survives, money rains from the sky, world hunger be solved. [Remy waved a hand as he listed those off.] Not all of those may be true.

Hmm, is the raining money in coins or bills? Because I'm thinking coins would be more trouble than expected. [She pauses to think.] Now there's a mutant power that would be interesting...

Blunt trauma via small projectiles? [Stop being a smart ass Remy.]

Well, if it's as simple as that, then I have that mutant power. [Two can play at that game, sir.]

That you do. [In theory, he could make that work too, with a bit of practice, using an explosion to propel an object, but where was the fun in that?]

'nd if ya did have a mutant who could rain down money, I may be out of a job.

It'd play hell with the world economy and inflation to boot. So I doubt it'd work. Would have to be something like-- can turn rain water into silver. I'd say that's ridiculous, but seriously? Not really that far fetched anymore.

Chere, [Remy gave her a bit of a 'really?' look.] Even before all this, I worked with a man who can turn his skin to metal 'nd a boy who makes fire into play toys for his own amusement. Makin' something into 'nother thing, don't seem that big of a step from our own world, let 'lone here, hein?

[He then signed] This world here be bad 'nough with no currency. [Grumbling more to himself.] Borin'.

That's what I meant, in our world. There was a time, beleive it or not, when I was just your run-of-the-mill high school student. [Don't be modest Jean. You were never run-of-the-mill.] Personal Alchemical powers seem like they'd be pretty simple at this point.

Does not having money make it that bad? Why?

Well, be easier for most here, havin' to not rely on a money system, 'specially for start up. Mais it be borin' for my normal choices in life. [Gambling was a total waste of time, and everything being free took the thrill out of pick pocketing.]

[But time to get the attention back off him.] 'Run-of-the-mill', hein? [Offering a grin after that at Jean.]

Yeah, you know-- Home, school, after school activities, volunteer work, church-- the usual.

"Normal choices in life," hmm? [Oh hohoh. Not getting off that easily. ~~That's what she said~~]

Usual for most teens be tryin' to get out of school, 'nd work, 'nd typically church.

[Remy offered another smirk, but a touch more reserved than the last.] Fun, chere, fun in life with all its sins, if possible.

I think "getting out of" is contained within the venn diagrams of the existence of those subjects. [She cocks an eyebrow at him, playfully.] Life can be plenty of fun without sinning, I'm pretty sure. [Not that Jean was a big church-go-er, but so long as they were phrasing things as such.]

That all depends what ya life be, 'nd how much trouble ya get up to normally. [In his line of work, Remy was basically an adrenaline junkie, had to keep the fix going strong or stuff got boring.]

Hmmm... Entirely true, I'll allow. Different strokes, as they say.

So then.

What would make life more fun for you, here? Short of instigating a monetary economy system?

[A job. He needed to steal, it was an addiction, much like his smoking but that he could control thanks to cigarettes. A good heist was not so easy to come across.]

Well, this been fun, something physical, 'long with mental stimulation. [But Remy still needed something to let him get into a bit of trouble, something he was sure she wouldn't understand.] Shame no vehicles here, would be nice to get a bike.

Well, there are the workshops, I'd bet-- Oh, you mean like a motorcycle? Yeah, that'd probably be more tricky. What about obstacle courses?
