[Ever since Scott disappeared, Jean has been feeling a bit glum. Somehow, having your best friend around just makes everything that much more tolerable. Not that she doesn't enjoy Kitty, Storm, and the rest; She's very thankful for their presences! But-- Scott was special. Scott is special. And his absence in her life weighs heavily on her mind.

Not liking to dwell or mope, though, she is doing her best to keep her spirits up.]

Hi, everyone! [She gives a little wave to the camera.] My name's Jean, for those of you who haven't met me. I'm still pretty new here, but I figured it was about time I did one of these.

I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in playing some sort of field game. Soccer, basketball, baseball-- I'm open to suggestions! I used to do varsity sports, back home, and I admit I kind of miss it. If there's a sport I don't know, from one of your homes, I'd be happy to try and learn, if I can.

Late mornings are good...and any afternoon but Thursday afternoons are, too.

[Sometimes there are Fashion Club meetings on Thursday, and Fashion Club takes precedence over anything else, even if a game sounds like it might be fun.]

Let us say that I...have seen others play baseball. And I would like it to swing a bat at a ball. With someone I have not met yet.

In so much that they are ball games with set rules, but not much beyond that. We could do a game of volleyball, though, if you prefer.

I read a lot. Books and comics, mostly. And I like art? And there's the usual TV and movies, but I think that goes without saying...

Basketball is played with a very bouncy ball that you bounce and throw from person to person, and try to throw it into a goal up in the air. Soccer is similar, but with a less bouncy ball, and you're only allowed to touch the ball with your feet. Oh and the goals are on the ground.

Baseball is a little more complex. It's a small hard ball that you hit with small clubs called "bats". You try to hit the ball as far as possible, usually, and then run to certain designated "safe" areas. If the other team gets the ball to the safe area before you can run there, then you're out. You have to run to four of these safe areas in order to score any points. It makes more sense in practice, I swear! [She laughs.]

[Was it a smart idea to answer the request that Jean sent out? Maybe not. After all, they were on opposite sides of the field back in their world, and without knowing what part of their timeline she came from Remy had no idea how she would react to his reply. Smart? No. Entertaining? Most likely. A week in this new world and he was going more than a little stir crazy. There was only so much drinking his liver could handle, so many books his eyes could take, he needed something physical to do. This hopefully would kill two birds with one stone; possible annoy a X-Geek, and get him some physical exercise.]

I don't mind the occasional, casual, basketball game.

[Well. This was a surprise. Jean was about 90% sure this was one of the guys who she had just recently fought, when Magneto had tricked them into fighting the sentinel in the streets of the city. Not that team lines mattered much, in this place, but still. Last she had seen of him he was trying to blow them up. That indicated she should, at least, proceed with caution. ]

Well. So long as it's a friendly game.

I ah, don't think we've been formally introduced. I'm Jean. [And I'm putting forth an effort. See?]
